Hi hi,

I got "Run-time error 7" when click any button of SQLExcel Toolbar in Excel 2003 (Traditional Chinese version) after the installation even I have rebooted the pc as well to reload all things.

Please advice.

Sorry for the problem you are having.

I am looking into this memory related issue now. But please can you follow the steps below to see if this resolve the issue. There has been a major release and this should resolve it I hope.

Please can you uninstall the add-in completely first and then reinstall the new version so we are on the same code base. The new version is a major upgrade and I hope this will resolve the issue..

Here are the steps I would suggest
(1) Uninstall the Add-in from your windows control panel (add/remove programs)
(2) Step (1) will remove the add-in but please also delete the application folder (which holds support files - as usual with windows uninstalling the add-in wont remove all the files so please delete the entire folder so there is no trace on your machine.
(3) got to the downloads page on the site and download and install the new version. There is a link that is labelled "DOWNLOAD CURRENT VERSION" (towards the bottom of the page) and you should use this link as the add-in is in the queue with download.com still so you cannot download from there yet (few days more..) So please download from this link ("DOWNLOAD CURRENT VERSION"
(4) Open Excel and see if all is ok now.
(5) If you still have the problem, look in the application folder (default is :C:\Program Files\SQL Excel\ and you will see the error log in there (file name is SqlExcelErrors.log. Please can you post the contents of this file up on the forum and I will check it.

Please let me know how this goes.

I am going to try to replicate your issue (using the Traditional Chinese version language pack on 2003) but I am hopeful that this will resolve the issue.

Program Installed.
Rebooted Windows Terminal Server 2003.
Entered Excel 2007.
Version 1.30.2 of SQL Excel

When trying to enter a new Connecton after hitting "add" I get the following message.

The system cannot find the path specified.
(update_XML_File)

I can go by the message and enter the connection.
Test the connection successfully.

But alas, it does not save it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re installed.
Works now.
Can save connections.

BUT, I cannot paste or embed the sql data.

I get the message ->
There is not active connection open!

Changed connection from repeatable read to read uncommit
Can now paste.
But cannot embed SQL.
Says no more connections.
What I think is happening is that I only have a server (odbc) set for 1 user. Will change to more users. That should solve problem
But it may indicate that when you embed - you use 2 users (connections)

Thanks very much for all the feedback.

Sorry you had issues but it seems like you are working though them as they come up. Usually the addin is pretty easy to get going but sometimes it takes a while to go through a few things.

It seems like the open issue for you is with the embedded query. I will do my best to help out so please let me know what is happening when you can. If you work through it, it will be great if you can post up how you did it - as other guys might have the same problem.
