Encoding or size limit problem? 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I can setup a connection to MYSQL.

I have some non-English charactors in tables.

If I select some tables and press 'execute', it displayed no records were returned, while some other tables can still show records in the 'Resultset view', but with wrong encoding.

Is it encoding or size limit problem? How to diagnose it?

Thanks.

Hi

Sorry for delay there. Been pretty busy with work.

For this problem, one thing to check would be to make sure you have the problem character sets installed on the local machine. It sounds like you might not have the exact same character set.

If there is no problem there. Please can you try to reproduce the same behaviour with MS Query. You should have the same problem as the addin is built using the same base. Doing this though will exclude the addin from the investigation. Only suggesting this to try to narrow down the issue.

I hope it is just a matter of installing the right characterset on the client machine..

Please let me know how it goes. Will do my best to help out..

Thanks
Al
